rethinking for new opportunities
The coronavirus crisis has not only had a major impact on social life, but also on the world of work.
We have also been working from home for some time now. We were already very well equipped technically beforehand, were able to adapt quickly to the new situation and have continued to develop ever since. Almost every day, we look at how we can improve the comfort of our employees. Be it the technical equipment, ergonomics at the workplace or team cohesion through joint events, nice gestures and much more.
But over time, you realize that the benefits of working in the office in direct contact with colleagues cannot be replaced by any measure, no matter how creative.
There is a lack of social contact – both at home and at work.
In addition to protecting our colleagues and our immediate environment, we always have an eye on the big picture. Why is it important to regularly take up-to-date measures and comply with them? How can we help to improve the overall situation? What needs to happen for us to get the pandemic under control much faster and how can we contribute to this? These and many other questions were on the minds of the Corona team, as well as the well-being of the Modelzyr team and the realization that no measure can replace direct cooperation.
The Corona antigen rapid tests have been approved in Germany since September 2020 and this should be THE opportunity to take active action against the pandemic and at the same time give the team the chance to work together again from the office in a safe environment and with an organized number of colleagues.
Our Corona team developed a concept that makes it possible to work from the office again with eight people and a safe feeling.
Every Monday and Wednesday morning, a trained, already vaccinated emergency paramedic comes to our office. It was very important to us that this paramedic is not withdrawn and absent at any point, but performs this service in addition. When he arrives at the office, he sets up with the test materials and dresses up especially for us 😉
Then it’s time to get started and, one by one, the colleagues who have registered for the relevant test day are tested. Admittedly, this is not really pleasant, but seeing your colleagues and knowing that you are negative is worth it every time!
And if significantly more companies tested their employees who are not working from home with an antigen test twice a week when they start work, this would massively reduce the number of new infections.
After a nasal and throat swab has been taken, there is a short wait and then the results, which have always been negative so far, are announced -toitoi toi-.
From then on, the colleagues can finally resume their work on site with a clear conscience, but still one employee per office, enjoy their office coffee and have one or two much-missed chats at a distance.
This is a great opportunity – for us, but also for everyone, on the way to a time after the pandemic.
